Baseball Recap: Whitmore Lake Comes Up Short

Whitmore Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 19-4 to the Lutheran Northwest Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Donovan Fox was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. James Burns was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Whitmore Lake's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lutheran Northwest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Coming up, Lutheran Northwest will head out to face off against Avondale at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Whitmore Lake will be paying especially close attention to the Crusaders' matchup: after the Crusaders face off against the Yellowjackets, they'll take on Whitmore Lake again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
