Football Game Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. Northwestern Bulls

The Hialeah Thoroughbreds will head out to take on the Northwestern Bulls at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hialeah's defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so Northwestern's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Hialeah's offense might be in the hot seat on Wednesday considering what happened against Ferguson on Tuesday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 26-0. While losing is never fun, the Thoroughbreds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Falcons are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Northwestern ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 20-19 win over Coral Gables. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Bulls were the better team in the second half.

Northwestern's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.5 points over those games. As for Hialeah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
