Baseball Recap: Cass Tech Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Cass Tech waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Renaissance Phoenix 15-0. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 10-0 victory two weeks ago.

Chris Hooper was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Jelani Jabari was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Jordan Scott also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cass Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Renaissance only posted an OBP of .071.

Cass Tech's record is now 22-8. As for Renaissance, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cass Tech will square off against Bloomfield Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Renaissance, they will challenge River Rouge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
