Preview: Dana Hills Dolphins vs. El Toro Chargers

Dana Hills is 8-2 against El Toro since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Dana Hills Dolphins will head out on the road to challenge the El Toro Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Dana Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 876 points over their last 11 contests.

Even though Aliso Niguel scored an imposing 68 points on Friday, Dana Hills still came out on top. Dana Hills managed a 72-68 victory over Aliso Niguel. Given Dana Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Aliso Niguel is ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Collin Haugh and Logan Scodeller were among the main playmakers for Dana Hills as the former scored 24 points and the latter scored 18 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Haugh is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 14 games he's played. Nikolis Grguric was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, El Toro beat Mission Viejo 55-51 on Friday.

El Toro relied on the efforts of Lydo Smith, who scored 12 points, and Christian Jimenez, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Jimenez hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games.

Dana Hills pushed their record up to 19-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for El Toro, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.

Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's contest: Dana Hills have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 9.6 threes per game. It's a different story for El Toro, though, as they've been averaging only 6.5 threes per game. Given Dana Hills' sizeable advantage in that area, El Toro will need to find a way to close that gap.

Dana Hills beat El Toro 82-75 when the teams last played on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dana Hills since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
