Basketball Game Preview: Narragansett Mariners vs. South Kingstown Rebels

The Narragansett Mariners will square off against the South Kingstown Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Narragansett is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Cranston West, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Narragansett was ranked 22nd). Narragansett strolled past Cranston West with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 59-42.

Meanwhile, South Kingstown's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Monday. They fell to Moses Brown 70-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (61), the Rebels still had to take the loss.

Narragansett's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for South Kingstown, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Narragansett strolled past South Kingstown in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 69-53. Will Narragansett repeat their success, or does South Kingstown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
