It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Herndon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the McLean Highlanders 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Hornets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The win made it two in a row for Herndon and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for McLean, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Coming up, Herndon will square off against Chattanooga Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for McLean, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Albans at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
