New Rochelle and Mamaroneck are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Huguenots will take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

New Rochelle took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Mount Vernon a 12-0 shutout. The contest marked the Huguenots' most dominant win of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on Justin Maffucci, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryder Proudian, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

New Rochelle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Mamaroneck came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Knights.

The victory got New Rochelle back to even at 4-4. As for Mamaroneck, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

New Rochelle couldn't quite get it done against Mamaroneck in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Huguenots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
