Softball Game Preview: Redwood Valley Cardinals vs. Windom Eagles

Redwood Valley hasn't had much luck against Windom recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Redwood Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Redwood Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Fairmont on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 10-4 to Fairmont.

Redwood Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Blare, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Windom can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fairmont, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 10, 2024.

Windom's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Redwood Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Redwood Valley suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Windom in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
