Softball Preview: Richfield Wildcats vs. Carbon Dinos
Richfield is 0-10 against Carbon since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. Richfield will head out to challenge Carbon at 3:30 p.m. Carbon took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Richfield, who comes in off a win.
Richfield is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Canyon View on Friday. Richfield came out on top against Canyon View by a score of 7-3.
Kolbi Viers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Macie Barton and Jerzy Moon did most of the damage at the plate: Barton went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Moon scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Moon has posted since back in March of 2024. Sydnei Christensen also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Carbon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Richfield, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
