Flag Football Recap: San Mateo Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Terra Nova on Monday, San Mateo came back down to earth. The Bearcats lost 26-0 to the Menlo-Atherton Bears on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Bears are ranked 152nd).

Kayla Lichaa threw for 46 yards on six of 12 attempts. Destina Zhou was her top target, picking up 27 receiving yards.

San Mateo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Menlo-Atherton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

San Mateo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-0 victory against South San Francisco on the 29th. As for Menlo-Atherton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against Mills on the 24th.
