Eastern Connecticut - Large recap Oct. 9, 2012

Norwich Free Academy was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Ledyard. The Wildcats came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 42 last week.

Norwich Free Academy extended the longest winning streak in Eastern Connecticut - Large this week by beating the Colonels, 39-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for Jemal Davis' team.

New London's Ackee Barber and Caleb Camacho have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Barber has thrown for 735 yards this season, while Camacho, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 11 catches for 183 yards. Eric Stirtan from East Lyme leads the league in rushing with 252 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Wildcats take on the Vikings. Norwich Free Academy is currently in first, while East Lyme is in fifth.

The Wildcats made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,818 from 4,937. The advance stemmed from a 39-14 victory over Ledyard last week.
