Softball Game Preview: Katy Tigers vs. Alief Elsik Rams

For the second straight game, Katy will face off against Alief Elsik. The Tigers will challenge the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Katy has 16 straight victories, Alief Elsik has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Katy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Alief Elsik on Thursday. The Tigers never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 27 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Katy's victory was their 34th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 33-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.6 runs this season. As for Alief Elsik, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
