Football Recap: Gates Chili Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Gates Chili kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Eastridge Lancers and fell 33-0.

Eastridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sadie O'Neill out in front who threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of her passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Those 270 passing yards gave O'Neill a new career-high. Alyssa Cowart was O'Neill's top target, picking up 89 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 60 yards on only six carries.

Eastridge now has a winning record of 4-3-2.

As of now, neither Gates Chili nor the Lancers have any future games scheduled.
