Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Beats St. George's for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Trinity Christian Academy waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over the St. George's Gryphons. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Gryphons are ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trinity Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Waller, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Waller a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Williams, who posted 15 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, St. George's had strong showings from Carson Crump, who put up 19 points and eight boards, and Ontarious Odom, who earned eight points. Crump's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Amir Wilson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Trinity Christian Academy's record is now 22-9. As for St. George's, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Trinity Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. George's, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Evangelical Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. George's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season.
