Soccer Recap: Mesa Takes a Loss

If Mesa was riding high fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Canyon View on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Perry Pumas who were credited with the win on Friday. The Perry Pumas got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Mesa Jackrabbits' four. The loss put an end to Mesa's undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mesa fell to 2-1-1. As for Perry, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Mesa will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Pinnacle at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Perry, they will take on Casteel in a tournament on Saturday.
