Volleyball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Unity Christian

There's no place like home for Unity Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past the Pathway Christian Panthers 3-2. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers on Tuesday, too.

Unity Christian was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (97-96), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-12, 25-23, 17-25, 15-12.

Emily Merema paced Unity Christian's offense, picking up 16 kills. Merema got some help from Maddy Wilbur and her 13 assists. Wilbur was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Unity Christian's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. As for Pathway Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Unity Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Quincy HomeSchool on the 12th. As for Pathway Christian, they will host Tri-State Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
