Recap: Parkland Matadors vs. Harmony Science Academy
The Parkland Matadors's 26-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harmony Science Academy on Tuesday. Parkland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Parkland saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Whitt scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Ashton III, who scored 8 points.
Even though they lost, Parkland were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harmony Science Academy only pulled down five.
Carlos Ceballos was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists for Harmony Science Academy. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Ceballos has scored at least 25% of Harmony Science Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Jaime Barbosa, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Parkland's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Harmony Science Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Parkland will face off against William Allen at TBD on Wednesday. Harmony Science Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Del Valle at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. Del Valle is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
