Baseball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Great Falls last Monday, Central came back down to earth. The Central Eagles fell just short of the Andrew Jackson Volunteers by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Volunteers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Dylan Tomberlin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mj Allen, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Andrew Jackson, they moved to 1-3 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will face off against Rock Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Rock Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Andrew Jackson, they will host Indian Land at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
