Seaman has gone a perfect 10-0 against Manhattan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Indians at 4:00 p.m. Seaman is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Seaman is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Leavenworth 19-3 on Tuesday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.
Kynnedi Kitzman looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Kayleigh Neil was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Phelps, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Seaman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 11 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Manhattan had to start their season on the road on April 1st, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Great Bend, falling 16-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered since April 24, 2024.
Seaman pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Manhattan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Seaman was able to grind out a solid win over Manhattan when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 13-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
