Rio Hondo Prep posted their closest victory since August 24, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Pomona Catholic Pacers 2-1. This was payback for the Kares, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tara Riley paced Rio Hondo Prep's offense, picking up 13 kills. Riley got some help from Allie Scott and her 15 assists. Maddie Latham controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Rio Hondo Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Pomona Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
