Volleyball Game Preview: Marcos de Niza Padres vs. Sunnyslope Vikings

The Marcos de Niza Padres will square off against the Sunnyslope Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Marcos de Niza turned things around against St. Mary's on Tuesday. They blew past the Knights 3-0.

Marcos de Niza never let St. Mary's on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Sunnyslope waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Aztecs.

The win didn't come easy: Corona del Sol scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18.

Sunnyslope's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Marcos de Niza, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-10.
