Basketball Recap: Chattanooga Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Chattanooga Prep waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 72-61 victory over the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers.

Chattanooga Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reid Conley, who went 7-for-9 en route to 25 points along with five assists and five boards. The Sentinels are 3-1 when Conley posts 25 or more points, but 5-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Derrick Roberson, who shot 73% from the field on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ian Allen, who posted 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hardaway, who earned 15 points.

Chattanooga Prep's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Boyd-Buchanan, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.

Chattanooga Prep will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Polk County at 7:30 p.m. on February 2. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-29 victory against CSTHEA on the 20th.
