Basketball Recap: Fountain-Fort Carson Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Bryson Williams and Ahlias Gooding

Fountain-Fort Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 72-56 to the Rampart Rams. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 61-48 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fountain-Fort Carson's loss came despite strong showings from Ahlias Gooding and Bryson Williams. Gooding almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Williams went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Gooding a new career-high in boards. Sean-Paul Cruz was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Fountain-Fort Carson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

Elias Bishop was nothing short of spectacular for Rampart: he went 5 for 12 en route to 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Kirch, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Fountain-Fort Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Rampart, their record is now 8-6.

Fountain-Fort Carson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-60 loss against Doherty on the 27th. Rampart has also already played their next game, an 82-78 victory against Pine Creek on the 31st.
