Volleyball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Wilber-Clatonia hadn't done well against Centennial recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wolverines came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 3-1. The victory was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on three straight.

Wilber-Clatonia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-17.

Camille Nohavek had an outrageously good game as she had 22 digs and eight assists. Those eight assists gave her a new career-high.

Wilber-Clatonia was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Centennial lost, don't look at Meg Hoffschneider. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs. With that strong performance, Hoffschneider is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game. Hurley Harroun also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Wilber-Clatonia's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Centennial, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Wilber-Clatonia and Centennial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. The Wolverines (ranked 204th) will meet David City (ranked 35th) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Centennial will face off against Centura on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (220 vs. 39).
