Basketball Recap: Triton Central Skates Past Southwestern with Ease

Triton Central won the last time they faced Southwestern and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers took their game with ease, bagging a 68-20 win over the Spartans. That looming 68-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Triton Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Sego, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The contest was Sego's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Jackson Faust was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Triton Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

The win made it two in a row for Triton Central and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Southwestern, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Triton Central will head out to square off against Tri-West Hendricks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Southwestern, they will square off against KIPP Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
