Baseball Game Preview: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. Lowellville Rockets

Mineral Ridge is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Lowellville Rockets at 5:00 p.m.

Mineral Ridge is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They came up short against Toronto on Saturday, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Lowellville made easy work of East on Saturday and carried off a 24-7 victory.

Liam Bartlett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Bartlett was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Geno Perry was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Cody Nolfi was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Lowellville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East only posted a batting average of .267.

Mineral Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Lowellville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Does Mineral Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lowellville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
