Baseball Recap: Eagleton College & Career Academy Triumphs

Eagleton College & Career Academy was forced to take a big loss against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Pigeon Forge Tigers by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Royals: when they faced off against the Tigers on Monday, they had to take a 11-2 defeat.

Jayce Simon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. Eagleton College & Career Academy is 5-1 when Simon allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-10-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Charlie Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Clemmer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Eagleton College & Career Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-11-1. As for Pigeon Forge, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-8-2.

Looking ahead, Eagleton College & Career Academy will square off against Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pigeon Forge, they will venture away from home to challenge Farragut at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
