Basketball Recap: Magnolia Science Academy Carson Comes Up Short

The Magnolia Science Academy Carson Vipers came up short against the Animo Watts Warriors on Wednesday, falling 47-23.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Animo Watts to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johntae Forshay, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and three steals. Forshay is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydin Smith, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.

Magnolia Science Academy Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Animo Watts, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Magnolia Science Academy Carson will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on University Pathways Public Service Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Animo Watts, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Maywood Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
