Asheboro is 1-8 against Oak Grove since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Blue Comets will venture away from home to challenge the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Asheboro will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Asheboro is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Jordan-Matthews an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Mason Kotlowski looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Asheboro: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 6-15 otherwise.
At the plate, Cohen Caviness and Sam Gore did most of the damage at the plate: Caviness went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double, while Gore got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Caviness is becoming a predictor of Asheboro's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 7-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Tevebaugh, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Asheboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
High Point Christian Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Oak Grove proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a run and slipped past the Cougars 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted since March 14th.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaden Hart, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Max Hurt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Oak Grove now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Asheboro, their record is now 9-15.
Asheboro suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Oak Grove in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Blue Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
