The Charleston Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the North Panola Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

While Tigers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. Everything went their way against Ripley on Friday as Charleston made off with a 28-6 win. Winning may never get old, but Charleston sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row dating back to last season.

Marcus Flowers Jr was a one-man wrecking crew for Charleston as he rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Flowers Jr also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making eight total tackles.

Charleston wouldn't let Ripley keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Charleston can thank Brandon Henderson and Flowers Jr for forcing both of them. Henderson didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made a tackle.

Meanwhile, North Panola took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They blew past Palmer 30-6. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Dragons are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Everything came up roses for Charleston against North Panola when the teams last played back in September of 2023 as the squad secured a 50-22 victory. In that match, Charleston amassed a halftime lead of 22-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
