It's playoff time, and Riverside-Durham had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Northern Guilford Nighthawks by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won nine contests in a row.

Riverside-Durham had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20.

Riverside-Durham found their leader in sophomore Jacob Feller, who had seven digs and five aces. Feller is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 13 games he's played.

Riverside-Durham was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Riverside-Durham's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. As for Northern Guilford, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.

Looking ahead, Riverside-Durham will head out on the road to take on West Forsyth at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. Northern Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
