Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Valley Christian played against Bentley on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Valley Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Heise, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Heise has hit this season. Tommy Perryman was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Valley Christian's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Bentley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Christian will host Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Oilers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.05 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bentley, they will be playing at home against Cornerstone Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
