Basketball Recap: Battle Ground Academy Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-45 to the Clarkrange Buffaloes. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Battle Ground Academy still got an impressive performance from DJ Haws, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Fruechtemeyer, who posted five points.

Battle Ground Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Clarkrange, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Battle Ground Academy will square off against The Webb School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarkrange, they will venture away from home to challenge Gordonsville at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
