Baseball Recap: East Carteret Extends Road Winning Streak to 12

On Tuesday East Carteret's undefeated season almost came to an end. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northside - Pinetown Panthers a 2-0 shutout. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Mariners have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The team relied heavily on Eli Jenkins, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

East Carteret pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Northside - Pinetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

East Carteret will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
