Gulf takes loss despite strong efforts from Brenniyah Hall and Ariana Rodriguez

The Gulf Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mitchell. If Gulf hoped to take revenge for the 50-38 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.

Gulf's loss came despite strong showings from Ariana Rodriguez and Brenniyah Hall. Rodriguez dropped a double-double on 18 points and 23 rebounds, while Hall scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Hall is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Gulf's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-8. As for Mitchell, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Gulf will be playing at home against Dunedin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mitchell, they will head out on the road to square off against River Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. River Ridge is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
