Baseball Game Preview: Butler County Bears vs. Edmonson County Wildcats

For the second straight game, Butler County will face off against Edmonson County. The Bears will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Butler County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Butler County is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since March 25th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Edmonson County by a score of 3-1. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

For Edmonson County's part, Hunter Wilson made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Those 18 strikeouts gave Wilson a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Edmonson County: the team is 3-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Bullock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

With the victory, Edmonson County broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7-1. As for Butler County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
