Softball Game Preview: Ellis RVT Eagles vs. Killingly Trailblazers

The Ellis RVT Eagles will face off against the Killingly Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ellis RVT has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with eight straight defeats, while Killingly will come in with three straight victories.

Ellis RVT fell victim to Woodstock Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 12-0 to the Centaurs. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Killingly hadn't done well against Stonington recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Trailblazers won by a run and slipped past the Bears 2-1.

Kairah Guertin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Killingly's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Violet Schaefer, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Killingly now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ellis RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
