Softball Game Preview: Laurel Highlands Mustangs vs. Oakland Catholic

The Laurel Highlands Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge Oakland Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laurel Highlands will be strutting in after a victory while Oakland Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

Laurel Highlands will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Ringgold on Wednesday. The Mustangs walked away with a 10-6 win over the Rams. Considering the Mustangs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Emme Cavaliere, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Harlie Dirda was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Laurel Highlands took their win against Oakland Catholic in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-2 score.
