Basketball Recap: Owyhee's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

Owyhee's tournament run continued when they took on Vanden on Saturday. The Owyhee Storm walked away with a 47-36 victory over the Vanden Vikings. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in Idaho, while the Vikings are ranked 61st in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Owyhee's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Vanden, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owyhee and Timberline will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Vanden, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
