Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Mustangs vs. Panhandle Panthers

Wheeler is 0-10 against Panhandle since December of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wheeler Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Panhandle Panthers at 6:30 p.m.

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Wheeler duked it out withClarendon on Friday. Wheeler had to suffer through a 84-20 loss at the hands of Clarendon. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 941st, while the Broncos are ranked 79th).

Meanwhile, Panhandle waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Broncos 53-26. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 25 points or more this season.

Panhandle pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points per game. As for Wheeler, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
