Delavan scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens/Greenview Warriors. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lainey Klokkenga spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and six unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kara Lowry was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Jayley Fisher was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Delavan's loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delavan will square off against Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Athens/Greenview, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Illini Bluffs at 4:30 p.m. on the 18th.
