Basketball Recap: Ocean Lakes Comes Up Short

Ocean Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 59-27 loss at the hands of the Cox Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dolphins of the 55-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Ocean Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cox, they moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocean Lakes will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kempsville at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Cox and Deep Creek will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
