Basketball Recap: Keene Central Drops Season-High Score on Crown Point

Keene Central hadn't done well against Crown Point recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Keene Central Beavers walked away with a 73-64 win over the Crown Point Panthers. The Beavers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Keene Central to victory were Vann Morrelli and Peter Robjent. Morrelli dropped a double-double on 29 points and 13 boards, while Robjent dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. With that strong performance, Morrelli is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jonny Caito, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Keene Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Crown Point still got an impressive performance from Trevor Harris, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 48.4% of Crown Point's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Jared Kimball was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Keene Central's record now sits at 6-3. As for Crown Point, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
