Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deer Creek-Mackinaw). They blew past the Fisher Bunnies 17-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Bunnies: they've now won eight in a row.

Jerry Hahn looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Deer Creek-Mackinaw is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Deer Creek-Mackinaw got a massive performance out of Chuck Hathaway, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The Chiefs are 5-1 when Hathaway posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Brody Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Fisher, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Deer Creek-Mackinaw will face off against Peoria Notre Dame at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fisher, they will square off against Fieldcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
