Basketball Recap: Northeastern Clinton Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Northeastern Clinton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They managed a 53-49 win over the Saranac Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-34 back in December of 2024.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Napper, who posted 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Napper a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Duffield, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Northeastern Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Saranac, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Northeastern Clinton Cougars challenge the Northern Adirondack Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saranac, they are taking a road trip to challenge Moriah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Moriah's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
