Softball Recap: Brookfield Sets Scoring Season-High Against David Anderson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brookfield). Everything went their way against the David Anderson Blue Devils on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-3 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Madison Obermiyer was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mya Jumper, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Madisyn Fisher was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Brookfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Brookfield pushed their record up to 5-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for David Anderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
