Softball Game Preview: St. George's Gryphons vs. Evangelical Christian Eagles

St. George hasn't had much luck against Evangelical Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. St. George's will head out on the road to challenge Evangelical Christian at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Gryphons fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Fayette Academy 8-7.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evangelical Christian). They put the hurt on First Assembly Christian with a sharp 17-2 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won five in a row.

St. George's suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Evangelical Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can St. George's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
