Baseball Recap: Fleming Takes a Loss

Fleming lost against Lord Botetourt back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Colonels came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 20-3. The Colonels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fleming saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aronde Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI was Phillips' first of the season.

Fleming's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Lord Botetourt, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fleming will host Franklin County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lord Botetourt, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northside at 5:30 p.m. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Cavaliers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
