Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Springs Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

St. Mary's Springs had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 6-3 to the Campbellsport Cougars on Tuesday. The Ledgers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

St. Mary's Springs got a good showing from Jack Mand, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, St. Mary's Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beckett Longley, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

The win keeps Campbellsport at an undefeated 4-0.

While St. Mary's Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
