Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Abes vs. Gig Harbor Tides

The Lincoln Abes will face off against the Gig Harbor Tides at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Thursday, Lincoln lost to Bellarmine Prep on the road by a 65-50 margin. The Abes haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Gig Harbor suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2024 on Thursday. They took a blow against North Thurston, falling 86-40. While losing is never fun, the Tides can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Rams are ranked 13th).

Gig Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Lincoln, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Lincoln didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gig Harbor in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 43-38 victory. Will Lincoln repeat their success, or does Gig Harbor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
